In January 2015, the Canadian government launched a new electronic immigration system that offers express entry to Canada for skilled and qualified immigrants. Express Entry is used by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to manage and process applications received through three of Canada’s federal economic immigration programs.
The new Express Entry program is formulated to manage permanent residence applications for skilled immigrants who can fill jobs when there is a lack of skilled Canadian workers. Under Express Entry, individuals and families wishing to settle in Canada can become new permanent residents within just a few months.
Candidates are ranked based on their age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors.
